Hi,
I guess I’ll go first ![]()
I’m Samuel, my ”day job” is as a software dev / sysadmin.
My “night job” is tinkering with live production stuff, including video, audio, and comms.
I also volunteer doing networking, comms & video production at my local choir for live shows!
I’ve been talking to Chris for a while now about Ultranet and helping implement the transmitter because I’m building a bidirectional 8-channel digital snake over fiber optics.
If you want to see my projects, you can check out my blog: https://blog.thestaticturtle.fr/
I’m Alex(ander),
Dayjob: sysadmin and head of IT
Hobby: sound gui in a local bigband and a bit percussion ![]()
I saw this Youtube video https://youtu.be/6CfLC5xVy90?si=QGaZiNTQhZl3dXez, took my X32 Compact and bootet Linux
. What a joy!
Now, some weeks later, I do OpenX32 together with @chris. My part is integrating Barebox in the boot process, finding the little details and lately programming x32ctrl-ng - the business logic of OpenX32
Hi, my name is Riaan. My day job is software engineering manager. I have electronic engineering degree, but most of my professional experience is in software and image processing.
I volunteer as sound tech in my local church. I am interested in the AES50 repo because I want to send 10 audio channels from a laptop on stage to the M32 FOH mixer. This is for electronic drums with a VST based sampler running on stage on a laptop plugged into drum module for midi via USB, and via USB to DL16 stagebox. Basically I need a DN9630 but became interested in the DIY side of it. ![]()
Hi there, I’m Alex.
My day job is freelance sound mixer for tv and my hobbies are sound engineering/tinkering, python, raspberry pis and networking.
I’m in awe of the work and progress you’ve made. I’ve a lot of experience with user testing and using diverse mixing consoles and many digital I/O options. If I can be of help in any way I would be very happy to.
I have a dream console with features that are ‘pro’ by default rather than having a lot of restrictions and at a reasonable price - I can’t seem to find any.
I found your project because I believe it could open up the reasonably locked-down nature of the affordable Behringer eco system, in a similar way OpenWrt did for home routers.
Hello from France!
I’m a bit of a bad musician: I’ve been a fan of computer-assisted music since the late '90s, and ever since, I’ve kept trying to make music (or noise!) using just a mouse and software.
It comes in phases, but I stay interested in all the latest software developments ( example : https://faust.grame.fr/ ). I even have a bit of MIDI gear now so that I can interact with the software instead of just using a mouse. (I love the feel of MPE controllers.)
On the tech side, I work as a network administrator, so I have a foundation in Linux systems. However, when it comes to the embedded world, I only have a brief overview from messing around with Raspberry Pis.
Finally, as far as electronics go, I’m a complete novice, but I’d really like to improve.
I was lucky enough to find a broken X32 Producer, and while searching the web, I stumbled upon the openX32 project. During my research, I found a ton of information on power supply repairs. https://christian-marty.ch/electricThings/behringerX32Repair
My X32P boots up, but after a few seconds, it goes into a boot loop (both with the stock OS and with openX32).
So, I’m going to create a post to document the power supply repair in order to contribute to your awesome project!
